Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some questions, that as an agency we are frequently asked. However, should anything you wish to know not be covered please do not hesitate to call us on your local number below!
Why use an agency?
There are many reasons as to why families turn to agencies to assist in the filling of their childcare vacancies. The main one being that thorough vetting is conducted of the candidates prior to their arrival at interview, you know that the Nanny is suitable for working with children, has relevant experience and is knowledgeable about childcare practice. Using Careline will mean that you can have peace of mind about these issues, and will also mean that far less of your time is taken up in the process. Using Careline can also be better value than repeated advertising.
What areas do you cover?
Careline can cater for families on a National basis, we have local telephone numbers covering five counties but we cater for Nanny roles throughout the UK.
What checks does the agency do?
In accordance with the REC Code of Practice we will:
- Check the identity of the candidates
- Explore gaps in employment history
- Verify childcare qualifications, or have sight of the original certificate/diploma
- Take up at least two references
What is the process of recruiting a Nanny through Careline?
Our Family Registration Form can be completed by speaking to one of our childcare recruitment staff by phone, or if you prefer we can send one to you for you to return. Once we have this information we can start matching candidates to your role.
We will identify which applicant nannies meet the criteria for your requirements, and forward profiles of these nannies to you (by e-mailing, fax or post). The profiles will contain their first name, date of birth, qualifications, brief history of their experience and any details relating to their CRB checks.
Upon receiving these profiles, and having selected candidates that you think will be suitable for your role simply give us a call to discuss further information about their experience, availability for interview and also what date the candidates are available for work from.We will then arrange a mutually convenient time for you to either meet the candidate or conduct a phone screening with them.
Following interview, should any of the candidates suit your family then Careline will be happy to advance an offer of employment to them on your behalf. No carges are incurred until you successfully employ a nanny.
Advice is available to our clients as to the suitability of candidates, together with information relating to terms of employment, tax and NI contributions, contracts, and obligations as an employer.
